Blowing snow forced North Texas Motor Speedway promoter Mark Chewning to cancel the Sunday portion of the Fourth Annual Longhorn Roundup at the speedway.
Plagued by rain on the original date, and damp conditions this weekend, the richest race in the nation for the I.M.C.A. type modifieds will be completed at a later date.
Promoter Chewning will be examining options for scheduling the completion of the race. The decision will be announced within the next few days; however, the finals of the $30,000 to win race will not be run until after the completion of the NTMS regular racing season.
North Texas Motor Speedway begins its regular racing season this Saturday evening, March 14, featuring the I.MC.A. sprint cars, the I.M.C.A. modifieds, the Texas Winged Midgets, the hot stocks, the street stocks and the mini stocks. Gates open at 5 with races starting at 7:30.
